Yaya: “I’m very happy that I scored”

Yaya Toure, the tenacious midfielder from FC Barcelona, gave na interview to one Spanish newspaper. Here are a few parts of it.

Q: It seems that Barca has to push hard to win each game. It isn’t going as easy as at the beginning of the season.

A: It’s because of the holidays, and the whole atmosphere. We had a little rest, so it’s natural that our form is down a tiny bit. However, we’re winning and we’re still playing extraordinary, and that’s what’s the most important thing.

Q: The rivals are defending themselves with almost all players.

A: Yes, and we don’t like that. It’s hard to play against a team like that. We like to compete, we like to play football in the real sense of the word. But we have to fight, and win even those games.

Q: You scored a great goal in the last game. How do you feel about it?

A: I’m very happy that I scored. I don’t usually score because I play in a different position, and that’s why the goal was even more delicious.

Q: Will you fight for all three competitions this season?

A: Yes, of course. Every competition is important. We have a big fond of players, and I think we can win all three competitions.

Manchester City wants Yaya Toure

British newspapers have reported that the loaded Manchester City owners have joined the race with Arsenal for the amazing, FC Barcelona’s midfielder, Yaya Toure. As the report says, they have offered 26 million euro for him, and have promised to double his current salary if he joins their club.

However, it’s been known for a while that Barcelona is not prepared to let Yaya go, because he is a vital part of the current FC Barcelona squad. We’ll see how the situation develops, but the chances are small that he’ll leave anytime soon.

Barcelona 3-1 Mallorca, Yaya scores

In the first official La Liga game in the new year, FC Barcelona defeated Mallorca. The result was 3-1, and the third goal was scored by Yaya Toure.

Barcelona was dominant, had the ball all the time, but failed to make any chances. In the 15th minute, Mallorca’s Aduriz scored and the result was 0-1. Just after 16 minutes from that moment, Henry scored an equalizer.

In the second half, Barcelona started playing better and Iniesta, who returned after injury, scored in the 75th minute. At the end of the game, Yaya Toure scored after a beautiful solo action where he passed three Mallorca’s defenders.

Barcelona remains the leader with 13 points ahead of Sevilla.

Arsenal pushing for Yaya again

British media report that Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger is very dedicated to landing FC Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure in the January market window.

They said now that Fabregas is out for 2-3 months, they need to strengthen the midfield, and Toure is definitely one of the main options to consider.

Based on the words of the FC Barcelona technical secretary, Txiki Bergiristain, Yaya Toure won’t go anywhere — he is staying put in FC Barcelona. Pep Guardiola likes him, and the player has said many times that he prefers to stay.

Arsenal to make a bid for Toure

British press reports that the English football giants Arsenal are ready to make a bid for Barcelona’s midfielder Yaya Toure in January. Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger likes Toure and would love him in his team. Another reason is that Yaya’s brother, Kolo Toure, plays in Arsenal. The transfer fee would be around $9 million.

However, Toure himself has denied exit rumours. “I am very happy in Barcelona. I am not thinking about leaving,” said Toure at a press conference.
